Disclaimer
SnapLongevity is an informational and educational publication about population longevity. Last updated: September 2026.
1. Informational purpose only
Everything published here is general information and education. SnapLongevity does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, individual medical assessment, biological-age assessment or personalised health recommendations. For personal decisions — including changes to exercise, diet, sleep or medication — speak with a doctor or another suitably qualified clinician who knows your history.
2. The Explorer
2.1 What it shows
The Explorer reports published population statistics for the group of people who share the age, sex and country you select. It describes averages and patterns across whole populations under one year's recorded death rates.
2.2 What it does not show
It does not estimate how long you personally will live, and it produces no date, score or biological age. Individual longevity depends on genetics, medical history, circumstances, environment, healthcare access, behaviour and chance — none of which the Explorer knows about.
3. Data and statistical notes
3.1 Current source
The figures come from published World Health Organization data: the Global Health Observatory life tables and health estimates for data year 2021, covering 185 countries and areas, in WHO's abridged age bands. Remaining life expectancy is taken directly from the published ex values, survival probabilities are calculated from published lx survivor counts, and healthy life expectancy is shown only at the ages WHO publishes it for. Full detail is on the methodology page.
3.2 Limitations
- Population estimates change as source datasets are revised.
- Different authoritative sources can produce different estimates for the same place.
- Statistics describe populations, not individuals.
- Source data carry methodological limitations of their own.
- Some countries and areas rely more heavily on statistical modelling than others, because registration of deaths is less complete.
- The data year is not the same as the date this website was last updated.
3.3 No affiliation
SnapLongevity is based on published World Health Organization data. It is not endorsed, sponsored or approved by the World Health Organization, and there is no affiliation between them.
4. Evidence in the Factors section
The Factors pages summarise research on topics such as physical activity, fitness, smoking, sleep, strength and diet. Most of that research is observational: an association between a habit and longer life does not by itself establish that the habit causes the difference. Population findings never guarantee an outcome for one person, evidence changes as research develops, and none of it substitutes for individual advice from a healthcare professional.
5. In an emergency
If you think you may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency number or attend an emergency department. Do not rely on this or any other website.
